TECHNIQUE OF THE WEEK

Last Week’s Recap

Deep DLR To Leg Drag

This works best when your opponent postures up while playing DLR.

What usually happens when you get your DLR hook in, they’ll immediately start by pushing down on the hook.

To counter this, you can use your opposite hand to break their grip—now you have the cross sleeve control.

Unhook your DLR and plant that foot on their hip to bridge your hips.

🔑 Key detail: Be sure to get on your side (shoulder) before lacing the Deep DLR. Otherwise you can hurt your knee.

Of course, the Baby Bolo to the Back is also available.

JIU-JITSU LONGEVITY

Longevity When You’re Over 30

“As you get older, your injuries never really go away…”

But you have to be better at managing it.

One of the comments in the video might serve helpful: “I used to think: I should fight with everything I have to escape! But more and more I think: I should do Jiu-Jitsu better and not get in a bad position to begin with so I don’t hurt myself struggling to escape.”
