TFS#3: Get Over The Hump
There's more than one hump.
Your Jiu-Jitsu frustration isn't unique.
The first step to getting over the hump is acknowledging that.
The second is seeking out people who have already solved it.
The third is learning from them.
And the fourth is acting on what you learn.
You now have the actionable steps to move forward with your frustrations.
Now, let's start rolling...
Techniques For The Week
1. Beginner's Bane...How To Escape Side Control
I think one of the best ways to understand the concept of escaping side control starts with world famous Jon Thomas who does an excellent job and going over the details on body positioning.
2. Take A Single Leg On Your Way Out
If you have the speed over your opponent and are able to move your body quickly, this technique is a great way to reverse the position on your opponent.
3. Let's Focus On One Aspect Of The Escape
This video is quick since it goes over the importance of the cross arm and what you need to prioritize when setting up your escape from the horrid side control.
Word On The Tweet
The way a person spars can show a lot about their character.
Mats don’t lie.

My Final Thoughts
I've recently started a Twitter account to pick the brains of the community.
(I think it'd be a great idea for us to follow each other!)
Not only do I want to share ideas with you, I want to share the best of what the community offers.
As you progress through your journey, I'd like to hear about how this newsletter has helped your training.
Feel free to write back or write in if you have any questions!
